Deputy Mayor Li Yuan signed the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with Amazon AWS on behalf of Xi’an Government

On September 17th 2018, Amazon AWS signed the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with Xi’an Municipal Government, as well as the Implementation Agreement of the memorandum with Xi’an Chanba Eco-District Management Committee and Tong Ze Group which aimed to build the Xi’an-Amazon AWS Joint Innovation Center jointly. The Joint Innovation Center (JIC) would set up accelerator, international incubator and cloud technology talent base that focusing on the promotion of cloud computing application, international cooperation and cloud computing talent training of local enterprises.
Rong Yongkang (Global Vice President of Amazon AWS) said that Xi’an is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and one of the oldest internationalized cities in China, it has a gathering of many startups, well-known local and multinational enterprises. Amazon AWS would give full play to its role in the construction of cloud service ecosystem in China. After the signing ceremony, Amazon AWS would establish a comprehensive partnership with Xi’an, promote the application of cloud computing among local enterprises and help develop the city’s cloud computing industry.

At the same time, Xi’an Chanba Eco-District Management Committee, Hon Hai Maxnerva ( Stock Code in Hong Kong Stock Exchange: 01037) and Tong Ze Group signed the Intelligent Application Program and started the settlement in Chanba.
The Intelligent Application Program is a Artificial Intelligence-oriented program which involves advanced technologies such as cloud computing, big data and intelligent service. It would establish automated IoT related research base with information system, help upgrade local manufacturing capacity and talent level, establish experimental centers in areas such as intelligent education, intelligent office, video meeting, intelligent farming, intelligent park etc. which aims at driving research and development through programs.

Yang Liuqi (Secretary of the Party and Labor Committee of Xi’an Chanba Ecological District) said that “Following the settlement of Wan Da Cultural and Tourist City in Chanba this June, the world’s second largest internet enterprise Amazon AWS also chose to settle in the district which proves the attraction of the projects in Chanba and its strong ecological power. The Xi’an-Amazon AWS Joint Innovation Center Project would bring more high-end talents and advanced enterprises to Chanba and accelerate the incubation and transformation of the enterprises in the district which could serve as the milestone for the development and industrial transformation of regional emerging industries. ”
According to presentation, with the settlement of Xi’an-Amazon AWS JIC in Chanba, it would: create a world-class growth base for internet enterprises in countries along the Silk Road; form the gathering of information, technologies, talents and capital; build a leading global platform for the development of internet enterprises; attract the settlement of advanced enterprises, start-ups and talents which would together help boost regional industrial innovation and economic upgrading, and also consummate the construction of the city’s cloud ecology.
